Parameter | Value |
---|---|
Dimensions, mm | 2000x2000x200 |
Max field amplitude (w/o Earth magnetic field), nT | 150,000 |
Homogeneity zone diameter, mm | 600 |
System of three pairs of square coils mutually orthogonal to each other (Helmholtz cage) simulates the magnetic field as it changes during the orbital flight the satellite.
By inducing current in coil’s wires the magnetic field is created and its direction and value depend on the amperage. Currents in cage is controlled by block of pulse-width modulators, which is connected to personal computer through USB and using magnitometer for getting feedback.
